We were tasked with replacing the existing boilers and associated plant st M&S Cardiff. Unfortunately, the local shopping centre wouldn’t allow us to lift from the loading bay, which would have made the task relatively straightforward. Instead, we gained permission from Cardiff council to carry out the lift on a Sunday night on one of the main shopping streets. This subsequently became a real challenge, since on the night a local charity were running a busy soup kitchen for the homeless right in our lift spot. Needless to say, we did not want to disrupt the good work of the charity, so managed to effectively barrier the area and marshall people around the lift zone to ensure their continued safety. Almost 30 lifts were required; all of which were completed on time, without incident, and without encroaching on the provision of food for the homeless.
